Abstract/Artist's Statement
if the soil doesn’t teach us,
and the fields unleash their sorrows
onto our feet / you’ll begin to notice the leaves
no longer fall from the trees / but I know the great bottom
of the roots sunken deep into the ground / while the hills
unfold into the willows / and how to slip away without a sound.
so every empty landscape and valley of time
/ tell me to leave their shadows, wither slowly down / share my harrows,
—try not to listen to the wind cry / I tried to call out but the decay of reason said otherwise.
sometimes, things gets so hard, you see /
I’ll try not to melt into the green.
/ there is a separation from the house
without any of our sutures or ties / there must be
a place to tend to, a place to forget
and to remember you.
is it possible to let something go and have it feel whole?
/ can there be some comfort or mending of our souls?
I am not worth the misted dreams,
but you are. Please,
do not forget.
