Abstract

Through the experience of Zandile, a theatre student who struggles to see herself as an academic writer despite her creative and intellectual strengths, this article examines how university writing practices can feel inaccessible and exclusionary. The author reflects on how theatre education can challenge dominant academic conventions and support more inclusive forms of expression and research.
