Abstract
This thesis project explores the relationship between popular music, mood, personality and relationships. It is both a creative project—looking at the experiences of music—and a psychological study, proposing research questions and a survey that could explore these questions in more detail. In the first chapter, I introduce this topic and how it developed in my own mind—and how others have looked at it. In the second and third chapters, I discuss two examples of popular music and musicians and how their music relates to these psychological elements. In the fourth chapter, I propose a survey to explore these questions, and in the final conclusion chapter I discuss how future research might explore this even more.
