Abstract
This thesis is an exploration of my chromesthesia and person-to-color synesthesia through a series of paintings involving three of my friends, and then myself. Each painting's thematic color is due to my synesthetic association with the subject alongside my person-to-color synesthesia. A song in the same color is, then, chosen for an abstract background to each painting. To compliment these portraits, discussions about the muse in the feminine and consent around portraiture take place as an overarching theme. This thesis also explores the philosophical and scientific thought behind synesthesia based off of Cretan ve Campen's research. Each subject of my paintings was then interviewed and analyzed through the lens of color psychology. This is to flush out color psychology and to answer how detailed people’s experiences with colors are.
