Abstract
Fugivity is a phenomenon that coincides with the construction of blackness. This thesis is informed by afrofuturist thinking/theory and looks to the origin of the fugitive, how the fugitive is treated in society and offers thoughts on why that may be the case. A Data Thief (DT) is employed as a tool. Equally identifiable as a fugitive, DT, like blackness, uses the infinite universe of time to explore vibrational interests that operate in its favor. And these vibrations-music, are a reflection of the people that imagined them in the first place. In the middle of the battles waged over freedom and justice for all, there is a resounding call, a reverberation, that intrigues passersby to engage with their own identity. The purpose of this thesis is to empower those who are alienated by fugitivity and to show that there is more to being a fugitive than a wanted poster.
