Abstract
This document is a record of my journey of both self and thesis, in which I explore my relationship to theater, acting, and how I create innovative art. It begins with my musings about the future of theater with the unique perspective of having become a resident of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I explore my relationship to theater as an artist trying to find room in the industry while opposing it. I also include details about my personal journey as an actor and how life experiences affect how I make art. The primary written component is supplemented by scenes of the play the thesis was based on, entitled Heroides, in addition to a complete one-act entitled Entropy that I had written previously and chose to expand and edit as part of this thesis.
