Abstract/Artist's Statement
Given that Nietzsche's concepts of his "Yes-sayer" and affirmation are not systematically elucidated in his writings, this article aims to thoroughly analyze the meaning of Nietzsche's affirmation. Utilizing analogies from Nietzsche's works such as Thus Spoke Zarathustra and The Will to Power, and incorporating references from Heidegger's Nietzsche, this paper will illustrate how Nietzsche's affirmation encompasses a double negation and explore the object of each negation.
Furthermore, this article will argue that Nietzsche’s concept of double negation closely aligns with the dialectical "negation of negation" found in Hegel’s philosophy, challenging Deleuze's interpretation in Nietzsche and Philosophy and integrating Löwith’s insights from From Hegel to Nietzsche to forge a historical link between Hegel and Nietzsche.
Ultimately, the Hegelian nature of Nietzsche’s double negation allows for a clearer understanding of Nietzsche’s philosophy of affirmation.
