Abstract/Artist's Statement
This Spanish-English poetry translation and accompanying critical analysis considers the challenges of translating the work of Juan Gelman, an Argentine-Jewish poet and left-wing activist who detailed the compounding trauma of the military junta's brutality, and searched all the while for a spiritual home in his explorations of exile.
