Abstract/Artist's Statement
In 2015, Nepal was struck by an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 causing physical, economic, cultural, and social impacts across the nation. More importantly, the earthquake exacerbates gender disparities among women. This paper explores the impact of the earthquake on women, but first lays out the socio-economic factors that were already persistently present and disproportionately affecting women. Beginning with household disparities, then shifting towards education disparities, and finally ending with livelihoods.
