Abstract/Artist's Statement
Platinum (II) complexes consisting of thiazole-NHC ligands were synthesized to make six membered metallacycles. These ligands were synthesized by nucleophilic substitution reactions. The complexes were synthesised by substitution and C-H activation reactions. Various chelate ligands were employed trans to the NHC ligand acetylacetone (acac) and 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane, and. Synthesis, characterization, and photophysical properties of these compounds are reported.
