Abstract/Artist's Statement

Israel’s economy has been shaped greatly by the rate and demographic of the immigration population. This paper examines the history of Israel’s immigration in order to explain the history of its economy. Other factors such as foreign aid and government policy have also helped direct the economy along its path, and these will be factored into the analysis. The impact of the pre-state years, 1900-1948, will be included to give a picture of how the formation of their economy occurred and was shaped by the population increase.
