Abstract/Artist's Statement

A creative non-fiction exploration of race and identity, my project specifically examines the meaning of biraciality. Considering the cultural nuances of Cuban racial terms and employing the works of Arthur Jafa, Fanshen Cox, and various writers, I ultimately assert the importance of storytelling as a means of encouraging empathy.
