Abstract/Artist's Statement
I consider all art to be a manifestation of a dialogue between the artist and the world. My dialogue consists of QUEERNESS not only as an identity but as a lens. The world QUEERS itself and its relationship to us and we QUEER the world back. I convey this dialogue through juxtapositions of sincerity and farce, gender and gender roles, beauty and ugliness, individuality and universality, following the rules and breaking the rules. I pose the discussion and the world answers back. Or, the world poses the discussion and I answer back. QUEERNESS is the discussion but the discussion is QUEERED itself.
I use dance, drag, video, and theater as mediums to further explore and complicate this discussion.
