Abstract/Artist's Statement
This thesis is an ethnogenesis of German-American identity in the Hudson Valley in the eighteenth century. Using historical and archaeological analysis, I try to discern if there is a distinct identity in Germantown that is visible through the material cultural remains at the Maple Avenue Parsonage site.
