Abstract/Artist's Statement

Puck, from Midsummer Night’s Dream, lives in modern day New York as he tries to write a play— not just any play but the very first play ever written by a fairy. The writing of the play acts as catharsis as he tries to adjust to living in the human world while balancing that with the inherent chaos of the magic world. Due to the lore of fairies prohibiting them from telling a lie, Puck’s writing of fiction slowly drains him of his magic— just another obstacle in his attempt to reconcile all of the different threads of his new life.
