Abstract/Artist's Statement

Through a thorough examination of several works by Georges Perec, the importance of his stylistic constraints becomes apparent, specifically in relation to how they are utilized to approach ever closer to the intangible nature of memory. This work analyses the use of these constraints and how Perec battled with the difficulty of representing, in literature, the concepts of loss, mourning, and memory.
