Abstract/Artist's Statement

This is a project that explores Marseille's attempts to rebrand itself, to change its image using the framework of the European Capitals of Culture program for the year 2013. Through a close reading of the city's bid. the project seeks to understand how and why Marseille hopes to assert cultural influence in Europe.
