The Early College Commons and Press, housed in The Annex at Simon’s Rock and produced in collaboration with the Early College Research Institute (ECRI) at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, aims to research, explore, theorize, and establish community and international cross-institutional legitimacy around Early College education concepts. As a publisher and platform, it stages new publics and publicities that are open-source, and span conventional print and digital publications, field experiments, audio-visual work, multi-modal installations, and context-specific formats drawing on or transcending regional traditions of scholarship that help us reimagine the locations and temporalities of the production of knowledge where students and teachers collaborate and redefine that relation away from the usual teacher/learner dichotomy.

This builds upon existing Open Society University Network (OSUN) collaborations between Early College educators and is funded in part by a grant from the Open Society Foundation (OSF).
