Abstract
Transcendental media, a type of media focused on elevating reality to evoke a spiritual, meditative tone, has a reputation for being austere and minimalist – reserved. While this method is tried and true, another lesser spoken counterpart exists in the form of more “popular” media with transcendental elements. This undocumented category deviates from the usual formula, utilizing common aspects of popular media while still conveying a subjectively transcendental tone. This category reveals a unique conception of art and the creative process: that the world is ultimately mundane, that creativity always flows from nothing, and that we are the elevators of our own reality.
