This paper holds that, if the importance of education is viewed and measured in terms of increasing personal income and education growth, then the integrity and essence of education and knowledge is undermined which can be detrimental for a healthy consciousness and critical awareness of the people of a nation. Knowledge is the most valuable resource of humans, and education provides a space for knowledge creation and knowledge garnering.
