Abstract/Artist's Statement

Accessing Light

Art Installation

This work responds to a recent event that forged a change. Forever, it stands as a point of

reference and a statement. No one will have access to my light.

I leave behind Open Access.

I realize my examination through the fabric and the chandelier equating to the soul's light.

Cloth and its variance testify to an individual's characteristics: opaque, layered, sparkly, glitz,

color, textures, and patterns—human traits.

The individual is isolated, wrapped, and hung in a chamber, affording a closer examination.

The figures have light. Be drawn to the light at what cost? Warning- they potentially create

life-altering consequences, inadvertently causing harm. Keep out of reach; remain far away from

these globs; keep out. Yes, I mean people. Beautiful things on top, with ulterior motives, buried,

Waiting for Open Access.

Consider what, how, and who you allow near your sacred soul.
