Description
This project was inspired after reading excerpts from Rachel Carson’s Silent Spring (1962). In her novel, Carson, a biologist and avid writer, describes what the world will look like without regulation of compounds known as chlorinated hydrocarbons, the most egregious of which being DDT, or dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane. In her novel Carson breaks down the biological and ecological dangers of DDT and related scientific concepts in a meaningful, and digestible way for the public. This project is broken down in a similar way, this time from a chemistry perspective.
