Abstract
Ōmagatoki is the hour at dusk when you are most likely to meet a ghost or a spirit. The seven stories in this collection are based on and inspired by Japanese folktales and the supernatural, something that I became interested in during my time studying in Japan. I hope to introduce – or reintroduce, as the case may be – some of these folktales and supernatural beings to the reader and share my love of the supernatural through my writing. From well-known creatures like the kitsune to lesser-known beings like the umibōzu, Ōmagatoki provides an opportunity to meet some of these creatures and characters – that is, until dawn breaks.
