Chris Callanan: the original discussion in Longinus, On The Sublime, in which Longinus quotes and discusses the Sappho poem 31, which is the main one we are dealing with. It is a good chance for the students to see the context in which these fragments were often found, and to compare our own interpretations with an ancient one.
