Abstract/Artist's Statement
Imine N^N^C-type pincer ligands were reacted with palladium sources and the regioselective C-H and C-X activation was studied. The formation and regioselectivity of these stable cyclometalated palladium(II) complexes were characterized, as well as their reactivity towards known, well-studied oxidants in attempts to form palladium(IV) species. Reactivity and potential catalytic activity of the cyclopalladated products were further investigated. Photoluminescence studies of cyclopalladated complexes and the comparison with their cycloplatinated analogues are ongoing.
