Abstract/Artist's Statement

This project takes a holistic approach at understanding industrial relations as it relates to management and job satisfaction. In understanding these concepts we begin to uncover the various effects that different managerial practices have on the satisfaction of employees. Additionally this project offers a look at the evolution of management from the early 20th century to now, alongside explanations of various societal factors leading to changes on the workplace. This research is significant because in understanding chain of relation between the society, the workplace, the employee, and the family we can begin to make informed decisions about how the workplace should be managed in order to create an environment that fosters high satisfaction and levels of productivity.
