Abstract/Artist's Statement
“Awake” chronicles my return from Dixon; it is a testament to the changes that occurred there. My experience in Montana had a profound impact on the way in which I process the world around me; it opened my eyes to unnoticed beauty and hope. The project sustains and shares that very same sense of wonder, curiosity and awe that was engrained in me during the summer months. “Awake” is a project about rousing oneself from the everyday; the belief that if one seeks, they will find. It is a collection of photographs documenting those moments in time that have moved me to a state of recognition, a kind of transfixion on the thing before me.
